Moong Dal Halwa๐
Directions
Step-by-step recipe:
โช๏ธWash and soak 1 cup moong dal for 4-5 hours.
โช๏ธDrain water and transfer to a grinder. Grind it to a paste.
โช๏ธHeat a pan, add 1/4 cup desi ghee. Let it melt.
โช๏ธAdd 1 tbsp sooji and 1 tbsp besan. Sautรฉ until it turns light golden.
โช๏ธAdd the ground dal and mix everything well. Keep stirring continuously.
โช๏ธAdd 1/4 cup ghee. Fry till the moisture evaporates.
โช๏ธPour 1 cup milk and mix everything well.
โช๏ธAdd saffron milk and keep stirring continuously.
โช๏ธWhen the entire liquid is absorbed, add 1/4 cup ghee and 1 cup sugar.
โช๏ธThe sugar starts to melt and turns the mixture watery. Keep stirring continuously.
โช๏ธAdd 1 tsp cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits and nuts. Cook until the ghee separates.
โช๏ธGarnish with more nuts and enjoy.
