Walnut Katli recipe for this festive season. I have used the finest quality walnuts from @californiawalnutsindia
Step by step recipe:
▪️Take 2 cups of walnut in a grinder. Grind it into a smooth paste.
▪️Combine 3/4 cup sugar and 3/4 cup water in a pan. Let the sugar dissolve in water.
▪️Add 1 tsp cardamom powder and mix.
▪️When the sugar completely dissolves, add the walnut paste.
▪️Mix very well to ensure there are no lump.
▪️Keep stirring continuously and cook on low heat until the mixture begins to thicken.
▪️Add 1 tsp rose water and keep stirring for another two minutes.
▪️Add 2 tbsp desi ghee and mix.
▪️Keep stirring for few more minutes. The mixture will thicken and start coming together to form a very soft dough.
▪️Remove it to a greased plate, evenly spread and smooth out the surface.
▪️Add saffron strands and apply silver leaf.
▪️Let it cool completely and cut into desired shapes.
